Why Chatbots Make Sense for Real Estate Agents?

When a lead reaches contact you at 2:30 a.m., how do you respond?

It used to be that you could set up some kind of auto-responder with no interaction and you could get out of the bed and take care of it- or even worse you could do absolutely nothing and not see the lead at all.

Fast-forward to today, there are more ‘intuitive’ options that can chat with the lead until it’s necessary for the real estate agent to step in.

Enter Chatbots.

What is a chatbot and what does it do?

Simply put, a chat is an application that can work within any platform such as a live-chat widget, SMS, Facebook Messenger, etc.  The cool thing is that the chatbot can learn from data and experiences.  So how does this translate to real estate?

Real Life Use of Chatbot for Real Estate Agents

There’s a Real Estate company called Structurely, that utilizes two chatbots called ”Holmes & Riley” respectively.

According to Structurely’s website will instantly follow up with all of your online leads, ask qualifying questions and answer lead questions using relevant MLS data.”

The AI-powered bot hands the transaction off to real estate agents once the conversation reaches a point that’s beyond the chatbot’s capabilities. For example, if a lead asks a question about a home’s foundation, the bot will say something like, “Let me find out for you,” and then alerts an agent.

The other chatbot, Riley asks qualifying questions and can ‘shoot the sh**  a little…”

Both bots hand off the transaction at the appropriate times during the conversations

For example, if someone says he or she is qualified, doesn’t have an agent and wants to look at houses ASAP, the lead is turned over to an agent.

Why You Should Care About Chatbots?

At the end of the day, you want to make certain that you have a solution in place that fits with your workflow.

The chatbot examples ‘Holmes’ and ‘Riley’ are chatbots that warm leads for the agent to come in and take over seamlessly.  With the hustle and bustle of a real estate agents daily activities, automation can be a welcome addition to their lead generation.
